New Delhi: Three alleged miscreants were arrested following an encounter with Delhi Police in the Pushp Vihar area of South Delhi on Saturday. The operation was launched after police received information about the movement of suspected criminals in the locality.
According to police officials, a team attempted to intercept the suspects, who allegedly tried to evade arrest. During the operation, an exchange of fire reportedly took place between the accused and the police personnel. The police team responded, leading to the successful apprehension of the suspects.
No police personnel were seriously injured during the encounter. The arrested individuals were taken into custody and are being questioned regarding their alleged involvement in criminal activities. Authorities are also investigating whether the accused are linked to any organized criminal network or previous cases registered in Delhi and nearby regions.
Police recovered weapons and other incriminating materials from the possession of the accused. Forensic examination of the seized items and further investigation are underway.
Senior officers reached the spot soon after the incident and supervised the operation. Security in the area was briefly tightened as a precautionary measure while the police completed the search and evidence-collection process.
Officials said further details about the identities of the accused and their criminal backgrounds would be revealed after preliminary interrogation. A case has been registered, and the investigation is continuing.
