Three people died after a speeding car crashed into a roadside wall in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district late Wednesday night. The accident occurred in the Haldharpur area when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while travelling at high speed.
According to police officials, all three occupants of the car died on the spot due to the impact of the collision. The vehicle was badly damaged after hitting the concrete wall with force.
Local residents rushed to the scene after hearing a loud noise and informed the police. Emergency teams soon arrived and recovered the bodies from the mangled car. The deceased were later sent for postmortem examination.
Preliminary investigation suggests overspeeding was the primary cause of the accident. Police are also looking into whether poor visibility or driver fatigue may have contributed to the crash.
Authorities said the identities of the victims are being verified and their family members have been informed. A detailed investigation into the incident is currently underway.
The incident has once again raised concerns over reckless driving and road safety, especially during late-night travel. Officials have urged motorists to follow traffic rules and avoid overspeeding to prevent such tragedies.
