TWO INDIAN ARMY JAWANS KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT IN EAST SIKKIM

Road accident claims lives of two Indian army jawans in Sikkim

Two Indian Army jawans were killed in a road accident in East Sikkim on Tuesday evening. The deceased jawans were identified as Havaldar S Maity and Naik Parve Kishore.


The accident occurred near the Zero Point in East Sikkim. The vehicle the jawans were travelling in lost control and fell into a gorge. The two jawans were killed on the spot. Their bodies were recovered and taken to the nearest military hospital.


The Indian Army has expressed its deep grief over the loss of lives and offered condolences to the bereaved families. Investigations are going on to know the reason behind the accident.


This is the second time in recent months that Indian Army jawans have lost their lives in a road accident in Sikkim. In June 2022, two jawans of the 1st Battalion Sikkim Scouts were killed in a road accident in Dzuluk.
