Two Indian Army jawans were killed in a road accident in East Sikkim on Tuesday evening. The deceased jawans were identified as Havaldar S Maity and Naik Parve Kishore.

The accident occurred near the Zero Point in East Sikkim. The vehicle the jawans were travelling in lost control and fell into a gorge. The two jawans were killed on the spot. Their bodies were recovered and taken to the nearest military hospital.

The Indian Army has expressed its deep grief over the loss of lives and offered condolences to the bereaved families. Investigations are going on to know the reason behind the accident.

This is the second time in recent months that Indian Army jawans have lost their lives in a road accident in Sikkim. In June 2022, two jawans of the 1st Battalion Sikkim Scouts were killed in a road accident in Dzuluk.

The accidents highlight the need for better safety measures for Indian Army personnel who are deployed in remote and difficult terrain. The Indian government should take steps to ensure the safety of its soldiers, who are putting their lives on the line to protect the country.

The two jawans who lost their lives in the recent accident were brave and dedicated soldiers. They will be remembered for their service to the nation. Their sacrifice will not be wasted.

The accident reflects to us about the dangers faced by Indian Army personnel every day. They are deployed in remote and difficult terrain, and they often have to travel long distances in harsh conditions. The Indian government should take steps to improve the safety of its soldiers, so that they can continue to serve the nation without fear for their lives.
