In the first incident, Jitu Bora surrendered to the police in Golaghat district after killing his wife, mother-in-law, and father-in-law. Bora allegedly killed his family members over a property dispute. He told the police that his wife had been demanding a share in the property, but he had refused. On Monday night, he got into an argument with his wife and in-laws over the issue. In a fit of rage, he attacked them with a sharp weapon, killing them on the spot.

In the second incident, Dipankar Das surrendered to the police in Nagaon district after killing his wife and two children. Das allegedly killed his family members over a domestic dispute. He told the police that his wife had been nagging him for money, and he had snapped. In a fit of rage, he attacked her and the children with a sharp weapon, killing them on the spot.

The police are looking into the circumstances surrounding both incidents. The dead bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem.

These are the latest in a series of domestic violence incidents in Assam. In June 2023, a man killed his wife and two children in Tinsukia district. In May 2023, a man killed his wife and three children in Sonitpur district.

Domestic violence is a serious problem in India. According to a 2019 survey by the National Crime Records Bureau, 30.2% of women in India have experienced some form of domestic violence in their lifetime.

The government of India has taken some steps to address the problem of domestic violence. In 2005, it passed the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, which provides legal protection to victims of domestic violence. The government has also launched a number of awareness campaigns to educate people about domestic violence and how to prevent it.

However, more needs to be done to address the problem of domestic violence in India. The government needs to increase funding for programs that support victims of domestic violence. It also needs to strengthen the legal framework to make it easier for victims to get justice.
