At 42 counting centres, votes for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) are being counted under tight security measures.

At eight in the morning, vote counting was started.

According to early trends, AAP was in the lead in 70 seats, followed by the BJP on 58 seats and Congress on 6.

After the counting is over today, 1349 candidates who are running in the 250-ward election will find out their fate. Candidates for the AAP and BJP are running in all 250 of the wards, but Congress is only running in 247 of them. This time, Delhi saw a total turnout of voters in the election on December 4 of almost 50%.

On Monday, the exit polls indicated that the AAP would win the civic polls. After the three corporations are united, the AAP is predicted to win between 149 and 171 seats out of the 250 wards and form its first government in the MCD, according to India Today-Axis My India.

The BJP, which was in charge for the last three terms, is anticipated to win 69 to 91 seats, followed by others by a margin of 5 to 9. Between 3 and 7 seats are likely to go to the Congress.
