Days after resigning from the Congress in Gujarat, Patidar leader Hardik Patel said that he would be playing a pivotal role in the Gujarat Assembly elections later this year. Speculations are that the young leader might join hands with the saffron party.
When asked about apprehensions about joining BJP, Patel said, “Why shouldn't it be…". He also added, “When the elections come, you will see me in an important role." However, the Patidar leader refrained from any specifics and, when pressed on which party he would join, said, "When it is decided, you will know."
Talking about the plans of joining the BJP, he said," There is no plan (for now) … I will sit with friends and well-wishers and think about what I should do so that people will benefit. Our objective is to stay amidst people and thus pick the best option."
Last week, after he bid adieu to the Congress, Patel said that he was not in BJP yet and had not taken any decision to do so.
Also, apprehensions are that the young leader could also choose the Aam Aadmi party aft4er tits thumping victory in Punjab assembly polls.
