CONGRESS LOOKING AWAY FROM ONE FAMILY, YET SEARCHED A RUBBER STAMP, ACCORDING TO BJP's RAJYAVARDHAN RATHORE

Rajyavardhan Rathore, BJP leader, on Wednesday referred to the recently elected Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge as a "rubber stamp" and claimed that the internal party polls to the leader were a "fraud."

The Jaipur Rural MP responded to claims of irregularities in the way the elections were conducted in Uttar Pradesh by asking "how can it deal with elections at the national level" if the party cannot properly conduct internal elections between two individuals.

The results of the elections for the position of Congress president, which were declared on Wednesday, showed that Kharge had won. He was competing against Shashi Tharoor, another party leader.

"A strong opposition is required for a strong democracy. After a long period of time, the Congress party is looking away from one family but still it has searched a rubber stamp. Their internal election is just a fraud and drama," he said.

He also made accusations of bad law and order against the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan. Rathore asserted that the party's primary interest in gathering data on its MLAs was apparent reference to internal party conflicts.

Only political information is of significance to the state government. Orders for political intelligence are given to the police and intelligence services. They are instructed to gather information about which MLA meets with whom, which minister spends the evening with whom, he claimed.

According to Rathore, criminals from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh find Rajasthan to be a safe haven. Criminals are relocating to Rajasthan because, according to him, there is no rule of law there and the chief minister doesn't have time to deal with their problems in UP and Haryana.

After the BJP takes control of the state, Rathore issued a warning that severe action would be taken against these offenders.
