After Eknath Shinde easily bagged victory in the floor test with 164 votes, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis took a dig at the rivals after the Shiv Sena leaders accused the newly formed government of “ED government”.
Replying to the accusation, Fadnavis said that the newly formed government is truly an ‘ED’ government, as the ‘E’ stands for Eknath (Shinde) and D stands for Devendra (Fadnavis).
The Deputy CM’s came a day after Maharashtra Assembly was rocked with slogans of ‘ED! ED!” against Yamini Yashwant Jadhav, the MLA who had switched from Uddhav’s to Shinde’s camp allegedly out of fear of the Enforcement Directorate.
Amid the rebellion in the Maharashtra government, Sanjay Raut had tirelessly alleged that the central probe agency was being used for intimidating leaders. He received two summons from the ED in connection with a money laundering case. He, later on, appeared before the ED’s office on July 1.
