HIMACHAL PRADESH ASSEMBLY POLLS 2022: BJP RELEASES PARTY MANIFESTO; UNIFORM CIVIL CODE, FREE CYCLES AND SCOOTYS FOR GIRL STUDENTS; READ KEY POINTS

For the forthcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, which are set for November 12, the BJP has announced their manifesto. If elected, the BJP government, according to the party, will implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state.


As he introduced the party's manifesto, JP Nadda, the party's national president, stated, "A committee of experts will be formed for the purpose and UCC will be implemented in the state on the basis of their report."


In Shimla, Nadda unveiled the manifesto alongside Jairam Thakur, the state party chief, Suresh Kashyap, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, and other attendees.


Nadda declared the manifesto (Sankalp Patra) on 11 commitments: This "Sankalp Patra" is supported by 11 commitments. These commitments would advance religious tourism, deliver justice to government employees, empower youth and farmers, and strengthen horticulture. They will also bring uniformity to society.


Following are some highlights:

- Based on a committee's report, the Himachal Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be implemented.


- A phased-in increase in employment opportunities to over 8 lakh. This will include work done in the economic zone and government jobs.- 


- As part of the "Shakti" program, Rs 12,000 crores will be spent over ten years to build the infrastructure and transportation systems around temples and other places of worship. They will be linked to the "Himteerth" circuit.


- Five new medical colleges. Every assembly constituency will see a doubling of the number of mobile clinics, allowing residents of remote locations to receive medical care.


- According to Nadda, the BJP would carry out a survey, Waqf properties will be investigated legally by a judicial panel, and their illegitimate uses will be stopped.

- Reservation of 33% for women in government jobs.

- Girls in grades 6 through 12 will receive bicycles, while those seeking higher education will receive scootys.
