Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung held delegation-level talks focusing on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding economic cooperation, and deepening strategic partnership between the two countries. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to enhancing collaboration in key sectors such as trade, technology, defence, and clean energy.

During the high-level meeting, both leaders reviewed the progress of the India–South Korea Special Strategic Partnership and expressed satisfaction over the growing momentum in ties. They emphasised the need to further boost trade and investment flows, especially in areas like manufacturing, electronics, semiconductors, and advanced technology industries.

A major focus of the talks was strengthening cooperation in the semiconductor and digital technology sectors. Both sides acknowledged the importance of resilient supply chains and agreed to explore joint initiatives in research, innovation, and production. The discussions also highlighted the role of startups and private sector collaboration in driving future growth.

Defence and security cooperation also featured prominently in the dialogue. The two leaders discussed expanding maritime security cooperation, defence industrial partnerships, and joint exercises aimed at enhancing regional stability in the Indo-Pacific. Both countries reiterated their shared interest in maintaining a free, open, and rules-based regional order.

Energy cooperation was another key area of engagement. India and South Korea agreed to expand collaboration in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and climate change mitigation efforts. The leaders noted that sustainable development and clean energy transition remain top priorities for both nations.

Cultural and people-to-people ties were also acknowledged as an important pillar of the relationship. Both leaders welcomed increasing exchanges in education, tourism, and cultural programs, which have contributed to greater mutual understanding and goodwill between the two societies.

The two sides also discussed global and regional developments, exchanging views on international economic challenges and geopolitical issues. They agreed to continue close coordination in multilateral forums and strengthen cooperation on global governance reforms.

Officials described the talks as productive and forward-looking, marking another step in deepening India–South Korea relations. Several new initiatives are expected to be announced to further expand cooperation in emerging technologies, infrastructure development, and strategic industries.

The meeting concluded with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to elevating the partnership to new heights, with a shared vision of peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
