New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has intensified his attack over the alleged Ram Temple donation theft case, questioning why authorities delayed action against officials linked to the matter. Referring to reports that the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was questioned only after several days, Kejriwal asked, “Were they given time to destroy all evidence?”
Kejriwal alleged that donations and valuables worth crores of rupees had gone missing from the Ayodhya temple and questioned why no immediate FIR, raids, or action by agencies such as the CBI and ED had been initiated. He claimed that if the names of those allegedly involved were made public, it could have major political consequences.
The remarks come as a Special Investigation Team (SIT) continues its probe into allegations of embezzlement of temple donations. Investigators have questioned trust member Dr. Anil Mishra regarding cash-counting procedures and the appointment of personnel handling offerings.
In a significant development, the SIT has reportedly directed trust and temple functionaries not to leave Ayodhya while the investigation reaches a crucial stage. Authorities say the move is aimed at ensuring cooperation with the probe and preventing any obstruction to the investigation.
Meanwhile, temple authorities and religious leaders have urged people to wait for the outcome of the investigation. They have expressed confidence that the SIT will uncover the facts and take action against anyone found guilty.
The controversy has quickly turned into a political flashpoint, with opposition parties demanding transparency and accountability, while the investigation continues under close public scrutiny.
