Amid rising political tension in Maharashtra, a Shiv Sena dissident in a surprising announcement said that he would soon arrive in Maharashtra.

He also confirmed that he would meet the governor of the state Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

While talking to media outside Guwahati’s Radisson hotel, Shinde negated the rumour that 20 MLAs of his group are in touch with Maharashtra.

"We are with Shiv Sena. We all will go to Mumbai soon. Deepak Kesarkar is our spokesperson, he will give you information about our stand," he said. "We have the support of 49-50 MLAs who are here on their own. Disclose the names of my group MLAs in touch with you. They did not come for any selfish reasons but to take Balasaheb Thackeray's Hindutva forward. We are not forming any new party right now, we will take Sena forward. We will inform you of our next step," Shinde Said.

The political turmoil in Maharashtra kicked off when Shiv Sena’s senior leader Eknath Shinde rebelled against his party and claimed that he has 46 MLAs with him to topple the government in Maharashtra. Shinde turned antagonist for his party over the Hindutva ideology as he claims that Shiv Sena has compromised with its principles for political gains.
