Maharashtra’s Maha Vikas Aghadi has forwarded Shiv Sena MLA Rajan Salvi as a candidate for the state assembly’s speaker. Salvi will now compete against Rahul Narwekar who was elected by the BJP for the speaker’s post.
While Salvi filed the nomination for the post in Vidhan Bhawan, Congress’s Balasaheb Thorat and NCP’s Jayant Patil were also present there.
Commenting on Salvi as a candidate for the post of Maharashtra Assembly Speaker, Congress leader Thorat, said “We have decided Rajan Salvi as our candidate from MVA. All three parties sat together and decided this. His nomination has been filed. We decided that we should give this opportunity to Shiv Sena".
