West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed strong confidence in her party’s performance in the upcoming Assembly elections, stating that the “Maa-Mati-Manush” victory is no longer a prediction but “only a matter of time.”
Addressing a political gathering, Banerjee said she was optimistic about the mandate of the people and asserted that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) continues to enjoy widespread support across the state. She claimed that the welfare initiatives undertaken by her government over the years have strengthened the bond between the party and the public.
“The victory of Maa-Mati-Manush is not something we are guessing anymore. It is visible on the ground. It is only a matter of time,” she said, drawing applause from party workers and supporters present at the event.
Banerjee highlighted several flagship schemes of her government, including women-centric welfare programmes, healthcare support, rural development initiatives, and direct benefit transfers, stating that these measures have significantly improved the lives of common people. She also said that her government’s focus has always been on inclusive growth and social welfare.
Without naming opposition parties directly, the Chief Minister criticised what she described as “divisive politics” and attempts to mislead voters with false narratives. She urged people to remain united and not be influenced by misinformation during the election period.
“The people of Bengal know who works for them and who only comes during elections. We trust their wisdom,” she added.
Party leaders present at the gathering echoed her confidence, claiming that ground-level feedback indicates strong support for the TMC across rural and urban constituencies. They also said that the party’s organisational network remains active and well-prepared for the electoral battle ahead.
Meanwhile, opposition parties have dismissed Banerjee’s remarks as overconfidence, arguing that the final verdict will be decided by voters at the ballot box. They have accused the ruling party of ignoring issues such as unemployment and governance challenges.
As campaigning intensifies across West Bengal, political rhetoric has sharply escalated, with both the ruling party and opposition projecting confidence in their respective prospects. Analysts believe the coming weeks will be crucial in shaping voter sentiment as parties step up outreach efforts across the state.
