Balasaheb Thackeray will be mentioned in the name the Election Commission gave their organisation for the state's byelection next month, according to former Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray, and they will take the "Mashaal" sign distributed by the election panel to every residence.

"The new symbol, new name 'ShivSena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray)' -we're extremely proud of Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray. He has worked as a Chief Minister, saving thousands of lives in Maharashtra. We have been a truthful honest govt, working for the people," Aaditya Thackeray said.

A Thackeray loyalist, Bhaskar Jadhav also lauded the new name and said, “We are happy that the three names that matter to us most – Uddhav Ji, Balasaheb, and Thackeray - are retained in the new name,” he was quoted.

The group led by former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was previously prohibited by the election commission from using the Shiv Sena-reserved emblem, "Bow and Arrow," in the forthcoming Andheri East bye-election on November 3.

The Eknath Shinde group faction was requested by the EC to submit three potential poll symbol selections by Tuesday at 10 a.m. Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena will be known as Shinde's organisation.
