The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday issued summon to Rahul Gandhi and directed him to appear on June 13. The earlier summon has asked him to appear on June 2 but Rahul, who is not in town, sought a time after June 5.
Sonia Gandhi, who was tested covid positive was asked to join the investigation on June 8.
The mother-son duo is being investigated in the case connected to alleged financial irregularities in the party-promoted Young Indian that owns the National Herald newspaper.
The ED earlier questioned Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Pawan Bansal in connection with the case. The agency is questioning the Gandhis to fathom the shareholding pattern, financial transactions, and role of the promoters of Young Indian and ALJ.
