Opposition parties have intensified their attack on the BJP over the alleged Ram Mandir donation irregularities, turning the issue into a major political flashpoint. Congress has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence and alleged that the matter is an “assault” on the faith of devotees who contributed money for the temple.
The controversy has also drawn sharp remarks from Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, who accused the BJP of using the Ram Mandir for political gains. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also targeted the Uttar Pradesh government over the pace and handling of action in the case.
The BJP has hit back, saying the government acted promptly after the allegations surfaced and that an impartial investigation will be conducted. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accused Congress of hypocrisy over its Ayodhya visit and said the party was “leaning on lies.”
The issue has gained more attention after BJP MLC Devendra Pratap Singh reportedly wrote to Prime Minister Modi, seeking reforms in the functioning of the temple trust and a fair probe into the donation-related allegations.
With the matter now becoming a political battle between the BJP and Opposition, the Ram Mandir donation row is likely to remain in focus, especially in Uttar Pradesh’s charged political atmosphere.
