Kharagpur (West Bengal), April 29: BJP leader and candidate from Kharagpur Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday said that his party’s political journey is aimed at bringing long-term social transformation rather than focusing only on electoral victories.
Addressing supporters during a campaign interaction, Ghosh stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s mission goes beyond winning a single election and is rooted in broader social and structural change in West Bengal.
“Our fight isn’t for one election. We have come for social change,” he said, emphasizing that the party seeks to reshape governance, administration, and public accountability in the state.
He further claimed that people in various parts of West Bengal are seeking change and are dissatisfied with existing political conditions. According to him, the BJP is working to channel that sentiment into a movement for what he described as “clean and transparent governance.”
Ghosh also highlighted issues such as employment, development, and law and order, saying these remain key concerns among voters. He argued that sustained efforts are required to address these challenges and bring about long-term improvements in people’s lives.
The BJP leader, known for his strong organisational role in West Bengal politics, added that the party is focusing on grassroots outreach and strengthening its presence in industrial and semi-urban regions like Kharagpur.
His remarks come amid intensified campaigning across constituencies as political parties in West Bengal continue to position themselves ahead of key electoral battles.
The statement is being seen as part of the BJP’s broader narrative in the state, where the party has repeatedly projected itself as an alternative force promising systemic change.
