After a stampede at Sangam during Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, PM Modi condoles loss of lives. Wishing injured to recover soon, PM Modi said administration is helping the victims.
A little while ago, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said situation is under control and several devotees are seriously injured. Adityanath said around 8-10 crore people are present for ‘Amrit Snan’ today in Prayagraj and asked people to be careful. Many are injured and are being taken to hospital. Opposition parties are attacking BJP led UP govt and Centre for “mismanagement” and “VIP culture”.
Heavy security is deployed at Sangam as police has given way to akharas for second ‘Amrit Snan’ today. “People are bathing at all the ghats peacefully… In the morning there was pressure and a huge crowd.
Many Akharas told us to regulate the crowd and they will take snan later. Now that the crowd is under control our preparations for Akharas and saints are in place,” Vaibhav Krishna, DIG Mahakumbh said.
