The schedule of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be declared following the completion of the voter list revision, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who was in Jammu and Kashmir on a three-day visit on Wednesday.

The schedule of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be declared following the completion of the voter list revision, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who was in Jammu and Kashmir on a three-day visit on Wednesday.

"I want to reassure you that elections would be held in Kashmir with total transparency so that your elected representatives govern here once the Election Commission completes the electoral rolls exercise."

Before delimitation, just "three families," according to the home minister, "came to power," but after delimitation, "your own representatives will win the elections and come to power."

He claimed that more than Rs 56,000 crore in investment has come to the Union Territory in the last three years under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Some individuals advise me to speak with Pakistan. These recommendations come from those who have ruled this country for 70 years. But let me be clear: I have no desire to speak with Pakistan. I would talk with the Paharis and Gujjars of Baramulla. I'll address the Kashmiri youth. In this country, they (Pakistan) have spread terrorism, Shah claimed at the event.

This comment was given by Amit Shah as he officially inaugurated and laid the foundation for many development projects in the Baramulla area of North Kashmir. "Bharat Mata ki Jai" was chanted by Shah before he began speaking.

"Today, since I am in Baramulla, I would like to honour Maqbool Sherwani, who gave his life in defence of his country against Pakistan. If young fighters like Maqbool Sherwani had not given their lives to defend our region at that time in 1947, w ith no civic amenities, its conditions would have been comparable to those of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He said, "I want to thank him again for what he did.

Mehbooba Mufti and Farooq Abdullah were the targets of Shah's criticism. He urged them to look around and realize what good they had done for Kashmir's residents. He questioned them on their 75-year history of responsibility.

According to Amit Shah, it used to be a terrorist hotspot but is now a popular tourist destination. In contrast to last year, when 6 lakh tourists visited Kashmir Valley annually, this year has seen a total of 22 lakh visitors, creating employment opportunities for thousands of young people.
