Fresh political tension erupted in Kerala after controversial posters targeting senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi surfaced outside the Wayanad District Congress Committee office on Wednesday. The incident created unrest among party workers and triggered sharp reactions from local Congress leaders, who described the act as a deliberate attempt to create political provocation ahead of important political developments in the state.
According to party sources, the posters were noticed by Congress workers early in the morning outside the district office in Wayanad. The content of the posters allegedly criticised the Gandhi siblings over recent political decisions and leadership issues within the party. Soon after the posters were discovered, local Congress activists gathered near the office premises and raised slogans condemning the incident.
Party leaders claimed the posters were part of a “planned political conspiracy” aimed at damaging the image of the Congress leadership in Wayanad, a constituency that has remained politically significant for the party in recent years. Workers removed the posters shortly after they were spotted, but photographs and videos had already begun circulating widely on social media platforms.
Senior district Congress leaders accused rival political groups of being behind the incident and demanded a proper investigation. Some leaders also urged the police administration to examine nearby surveillance footage to identify those responsible for putting up the posters during the night.
