On Friday, Rahul Gandhi stepped up his attack on the central government, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that India cannot become a country where people are not permitted to talk. “The Prime Minister must adopt a ‘I want to listen’ attitude.” Everything flows down from there. However, our Prime Minister refuses to listen. “You can’t have a country where people aren’t allowed to speak… and a PMO where people aren’t allowed to speak freely,” the former Congress leader remarked at the ‘Ideas for India’ conference in London.

He also did not miss an opportunity to train guns on the BJP and RSS during the conversation. “We believe India is a people’s negotiation; the BJP and RSS believe India is a geography; that it is a ‘Sone Ki Chidiya’ whose benefits should be handed to a few, according to Karma; and we believe everyone should have equal access – whether you are a Dalit, Brahmin, or someone else.” That is the true issue, according to the 51-year-old leader.

Gandhi also stated during the London event that India’s democracy is a “central pillar” for the world. “Indian democracy is a global public good.” It serves as the planet’s main anchor. Because we are the only ones who have successfully implemented democracy on such a large scale. If that cracks, it will be disastrous for the globe. And the United States is waking up to this,” Gandhi remarked.

“What’s going on right now is a systematic attack on institutions that allow people to have conversations. In an attack on the current government, he continued, “There is an attack on the Constitution; as a result, the states of India are no longer able to negotiate.”

His comments at the London conference, which are certain to enrage the BJP, came a week after the Congress wrapped up a three-day massive summit in Udaipur, Rajasthan, with an eye on the 2024 elections.
