Sanjay Raut claims no illegal loudspeakers in Maharashtra, takes jibe at Raj Thackeray’s May 3 ultimatum

"Those who left Balasaheb during his lifetime should not take his name now. Balasaheb and Vir Savarkar are the only two people who teach the lesson of Hindutava in the country. Other degrees on Hindutava are fake."

After MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s May 3 ultimatum on loudspeakers in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut described the ultimatum as a drama and said, "There are no illegal loudspeakers in Maharashtra. Therefore, there is complete peace in the state.”

Taking a jibe at the MNS chief, Raut said,"There is no protest in Maharashtra today. It was a one-day nautanki [drama]. Raat gayi, baat gayi,".

He also added, "Those who left Balasaheb during his lifetime should not take his name now. Balasaheb and Vir Savarkar are the only two people who teach the lesson of Hindutava in the country. Other degrees on Hindutava are fake."

Sanjay Raut's criticism against Raj Thackeray after the latter urged his supporters to play Hanuman Chalisa where the loudspeakers let out azaan.

Raj Thackeray, on Tuesday, appealed to his supporter, "I appeal to all Hindus. If you hear the loudspeakers blaring with azaan; in those very places, play the Hanuman Chalisa on the loudspeakers! That's when they will realize the hindrance of these loudspeakers."

Also, on Wednesday, Raj Thackeray shared a video of Bal Thackeray where Shiv Sena’s former chief can be heard speaking against the use of loudspeakers.

In the video, Bal Thackeray was heard saying in Marathi, "The day my government comes into power in Maharashtra, [the offering of] namaz will stop on roads. Religion should not come in the way of any development. If any Hindu rituals are coming in the way of developments, we will look into that as well. Loudspeakers at the mosque will be removed.”
