With six floors and an open rooftop, the headquarters would be the biggest BJP office in the northeast spanning 95,000 square feet.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jagat Prakash Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will travel to Assam on Friday to inaugurate the party's state headquarters, as well as to address booth workers and attend a meeting of the party's core committee.

Nadda would leave on Saturday evening after attending a few meetings, while Shah will leave the state on Sunday evening after participating in official engagements, according to Assam BJP leader Bhabesh Kalita.

He stated that the state BJP headquarters would be originally inaugurated on Saturday with the presence of Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

In February 2019, Shah laid the office's foundation stone. Nadda and Shah will speak at a gathering of booth-level workers. Kalita said that 40,000–45,000 of them will attend the meeting.

Later on Saturday, Shah will meet with BJP chief ministers from the northeast to talk about the drug issue there. On Sunday, Shah will attend a number of official events, including the state's police superintendents' conference.
