SONIA GANDHI PARTICIPATES IN THE BHARAT JODO YATRA IN MANDYA; KHARGE MISSING

Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the Congress, took part in the Bharat Jodo Yatra on Thursday in the Mandya district of Karnataka. Due to Dussehra celebrations, the Yatra took a two-day pause before continuing.


The Congress president spoke with Rahul Gandhi and other party members before marching briefly.


On the occasion of Vijayadashami, Sonia Gandhi offered prayers at a temple in the H D Kote Assembly segment on Wednesday after arriving in Mysuru on Monday. In the upcoming days, Priyanka Gandhi, the party's general secretary, is also expected to go to Mysuru and join the yatra.


Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of the Congress, was initially expected to join the Yatra.


Sonia Gandhi will take part in the yatra on October 6 in the morning, according to D K Shivakumar, the head of the Karnataka Congress. On October 5, Mallikarjun Kharge will arrive, and the following morning, he will take part in the yatra.
