Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Bihar government, alleging that it has failed to manage the state’s finances and has “no money to do anything.”
Speaking at a public interaction in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav criticised the state administration led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming that development works have slowed down significantly due to what he described as poor fiscal planning and lack of revenue generation.
He alleged that several welfare schemes have either been delayed or implemented in a diluted form due to financial constraints. “The government itself admits that there is no money. When there is no money, how will development happen and how will employment be created,” he said while addressing party workers.
The RJD leader further said that Bihar continues to lag behind other states in industrial growth, infrastructure development, and job creation. He argued that repeated announcements without execution have become a pattern in the current administration.
Tejashwi also targeted the state’s borrowing and expenditure pattern, alleging that funds are not being utilised efficiently. He claimed that public money is not reaching the intended development projects and accused the government of mismanagement of resources.
He added that the youth of Bihar are the worst affected, as employment opportunities remain limited and migration continues at a high rate. According to him, the government has failed to create a stable economic environment that could attract investment and generate jobs within the state.
Responding to similar criticisms in the past, the state government has maintained that Bihar has been witnessing steady development in infrastructure, roads, electricity, and welfare delivery. Officials have also argued that multiple central schemes are being implemented effectively in the state.
Political observers note that such exchanges between the ruling coalition and the opposition have intensified ahead of the upcoming political cycle, with both sides focusing heavily on governance and economic issues.
The remarks by Tejashwi Yadav are expected to further sharpen the political debate in Bihar, particularly on issues related to employment, development spending, and fiscal management.
As the confrontation continues, both parties are likely to escalate their campaign narratives in the coming weeks, with economic performance becoming a key point of contention in the state’s political discourse.
