Assam’s unit of Trinamool Congress led by state president Ripun Bora staged a protest outside a hotel where Shiv Shena’s rebels led by Eknath Shinde are staying.
The TMC workers also marked their protest against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for conniving to dismantle the Maharashtra government. The protestors also said that the CM should focus on Flood that is ravaging the state rather than focusing on Maharashtra politics.
“People of Assam are battling with hunger and thirst in Assam due to the floods. But instead of providing relief to the affected, CM Biswa is expressing his interest in the Maharashtra government.” Bora said.
Meanwhile, police said that the protests by the TMC were staged without prior permission. Several TMC leaders, including Bora, have been detained for staging the protest.
The National Students Union of India( NSUI) also protested outside the hotel against the Shiv Sena dissidents. Given the protests, the authorities have beefed up the security outside the hotel.
