Lucknow Mar 22, 2025 - Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath was present at the Investors Meet on Saturday for the coming Mega Textile and Apparel Park in Lucknow, which will cover 1,000 acres on the Lucknow-Hardoi border under the PM Mitra Yojana. The move has been made to increase industrial growth in the textile industry and consolidate UP's position as a key investment hub.
In his address, CM Yogi placed emphasis on the state's support for making it a friendly place for investors.
"We've already given incentives to scores of investors who have commenced production. Our online system ensures that all incentives reach according to the policy framework," he said.
He further highlighted that UP is the only state in India to provide social incentives to investors in a structured manner. With the 2022 textile policy, the players in the sector have already received their incentives, indicating the government's sincerity towards honoring its commitment.
CM Yogi highlighted the rich tradition of UP's textile sector, with references to Varanasi and Ayodhya as traditional centers of trade and craftsmanship.
"Kashi and Ayodhya are two of the world's oldest cities, with a textile heritage that goes back thousands of years. Bhagoli and Mirzapur are still renowned for their silk, and the Banarasi saree is adored across the globe," he said.
He further added that Ambedkar Nagar in Ayodhya is flourishing with its handloom and textile sector.
The establishment of the Mega Textile Park is expected to generate employment and reinforce UP as a leading textile production state in India.
The PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme seeks to develop an end-to-end, state-of-the-art textile industrial infrastructure, creating an entire value chain from fiber to finished goods and making India competitive in the international textile industry.
On Friday, CM Yogi inaugurated a new soft drink bottling plant in the Ayodhya district.
In his address, he lauded the "double engine" government, emphasizing the efficient central-state coordination under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. CM Yogi highlighted that, due to Modi's vision, the BJP government transformed Ayodhya into India's first solar city by installing a 15-megawatt solar plant, thereby reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change.
He stated that the new bottling factory will increase employment opportunities locally, which will be a boon for the local workers and fulfill the demand for soft drinks not only in Uttar Pradesh but also in surrounding states such as Bihar and Uttarakhand.
Earlier, in his address at the Mukhyamantri Yuva Uddyaami Vikas Abhiyaan (MYUVA) event, CM Yogi commented on UP's improved law and order situation under the BJP regime, observing that the state that was once plagued by "riots" is now a festival hub attracting devotees from all over the world.
The Chief Minister reiterated that such festivities in cities like Kashi, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, and Chitrakoot have not only highlighted cultural heritage but also generated several employment opportunities.
CM Yogi highlighted that Uttar Pradesh has developed immensely in the last decade.
In a veiled dig at the opposition, he said that all hurdles in the way of Uttar Pradesh's development have been removed so that the state's youth can get jobs.
