On Thursday, Chief minister Mamata Banerjee told that she would not allow Centre to hold NRC in West Bengal as long as their party is on power.
Banerjee added in an administrative meeting at Maldah " I don't know about other states , but as long as we are in power in WB , we will not allow Centre to implement NRC in this state. Recently, Centre has asked indirectly for some documents that points to the side of NRC."
She assured the peope of WB not to worry about NRC instead of that everyone should make a voter identity card and exercise their voting rights and ensure that their names are on the voter's list.
" You all must make sure to vote… I would also advise people to update their Aadhaar card on time and in every 10 years," she added.
