Team India produced an impressive performance at the Global Skills Challenge Australia 2026, winning five medals three gold, one silver and one bronze. The event was held from June 23 to 29 and featured nearly 600 competitors and officials from 16 WorldSkills member nations.
India’s gold medals came from Pavan Bhadravati Suresha of Karnataka in Additive Manufacturing, Mausam Kumar Giri of Bihar in Cloud Computing, and Vishnupriya Sunil of Delhi in Health and Social Care. Harsh Ramesh Pawar of Maharashtra won silver in 3D Digital Game Art, while Muskan from Haryana secured bronze in Painting and Decorating.
The performance is being seen as a major boost for India ahead of the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai later this year. Minister Jayant Chaudhary called the medal haul a proud moment for the nation and praised the hard work of the skill champions, mentors and industry partners.
