India's women's 4x100m relay team clinched a brilliant gold medal at the Asian Relays Championships 2026 in Shaoxing, China, producing a season-best performance of 43.85 seconds to finish ahead of hosts China and Thailand.
The victorious Indian quartet of Srabani Nanda, SS Sneha, Sudeshna Shivankar and Tamanna delivered a flawless race, edging out China, which took silver in 44.09 seconds, while Thailand secured bronze in 44.11 seconds.
The gold medal capped a successful campaign for India at the continental meet. The Indian contingent also won silver in the mixed 4x400m relay and bronze in the mixed 4x100m relay, finishing the championships with a total of three medals.
Tamanna and SS Sneha emerged as standout performers, each winning two medals after earlier helping India claim bronze in the mixed 4x100m event alongside Animesh Kujur and Pranav Gurav.
The victory is another encouraging sign for Indian athletics ahead of a packed international calendar that includes the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games preparations. The season-best timing also underlines the growing strength of India's women's sprint relay team on the Asian stage.
