Complete 'shutdown' of communications in Russian-controlled Kherson, reports Ukraine

The statement further underscored that the citizens of Kherson are currently devoid of access to Ukrainian mobile communication and Internet availability

Amid the ongoing war with Russia, Ukraine has reported a communication shutdown in the Russian-controlled southern province of Kherson. 



The State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine stated that communication equipment had been turned off and cables were disconnected after an unidentified intrusion "by the occupation regime



The statement further underscored that the citizens of Kherson are currently devoid of access to Ukrainian mobile communication and Internet availability. 



The agency further added that as of now, there is “no means to make national and international phone calls using landline phone devices.” 



Earlier, war-torn Ukraine had shut down Kherson’s borders to the rest of the country. It is pertinent to mention that Russia had established its own government in Kherson after taking control of the region in March.



Meanwhile, during Speaker Valentina Matviyenko's official visit to Mozambique on Tuesday, Russia’s upper parliament house speaker stated that Russia is open to holding talks with Kyiv to restore regional peace.
