A California based health care system faced a cyber attack this week, due to which some services at affiliated location states of US  were shut down. Many primary care services remained closed on friday, forcing reliance on paper records while security persons worked to find out  the reason and to determine the proper solution for the problem.

In Connecticut, the emergency departments at Manchester Memorial and Rockville General hospital were closed for much of Thursday and patients were diverted to other nearby medical centers.
The “data security incident” began Thursday at facilities operated by Prospect Medical Holdings, which is based in Los Angeles and has hospitals and clinics in this state and in Texas, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania.

The FBI in Connecticut issued a statement saying it is working with “law enforcement partners and the victim entities” but could not comment further on an ongoing investigation.
