DGP ISSUES DIRECTIVES TO ENSURE SAFETY OF PILGRIMS DURING AMARNATH YATRA

DGP Directs Police to Formulate Contingency Plans, Install CCTV Cameras for Amarnath Yatra

The Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh, has directed the police to formulate contingency plans and install CCTV cameras at important locations to ensure the safety of pilgrims during the Amarnath Yatra.


The DGP issued the directives during a meeting with senior police officers in Jammu on Tuesday. He said that the contingency plans should focus on disaster management and swift response mechanisms. He also emphasized the importance of installing CCTV cameras at important locations, such as langars, eateries, and petrol pumps, to monitor the movement of suspects.


The DGP said that the incharge Commander should be the first responder to any incident and should be prepared to take immediate action. He also stressed the importance of communication and coordination between all stakeholders involved in the yatra.


The Amarnath Yatra is a Hindu pilgrimage that takes place in the Kashmir Valley. The yatra is scheduled to begin on June 30, 2023.


The police will take some specific stepe to ensure the safety of pilgrims during the yatra. 

Such things are:- 


Formulate contingency plans to deal with any untoward situation.


Install CCTV cameras at important locations to monitor the movement of suspects.


Assign responsibilities and resources for each response plan.


Conduct drills and exercises to test the response plans.


Review and update the response plans on a regular basis.


The police have said that they are committed to ensuring the safety of pilgrims during the Amarnath Yatra. They have urged pilgrims to cooperate with the police and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
