The Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, held a meeting on Monday to review the arrangements for the upcoming Eid al-Adha and Muharram holidays. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners, representatives of various government departments, and members of the Shia community.
During the meeting, Bidhuri discussed a number of issues related to the smooth and peaceful celebration of the holidays. He directed the concerned departments to ensure the availability of sacrificial animals, essential goods, and electricity at designated locations. He also instructed the departments to take steps to prevent overcharging by traders, capture stray dogs, and deploy teams of doctors and para-medics along with ambulances.
Bidhuri also stressed the importance of proper traffic management and security during the holidays. He directed the police to ensure that no untoward incidents take place and that the celebrations are peaceful.
The meeting was productive and the Divisional Commissioner's directives will go a long way in ensuring the smooth and peaceful celebration of Eid al-Adha and Muharram in Kashmir.
