On October 19 in Indonesia, a huge dome of the Jakarta Islamic Centre Mosque fell after a fire started. While the Islamic Centre was undergoing renovations, the dome fell. The event didn't result in any injuries. On social media, images that captured the moment the mosque's dome fell have surfaced. The mosque's dome could be seen spewing smoke and flames in the camera clip.

Four employees of the business hired to renovate the mosque have reportedly been questioned by police, who are also looking into the incident's cause. At least 10 fire engines were sent to the location after firefighters received a call about the incident just after 3 p.m. (Indonesian time), according to Indonesian media.

The mosque is situated on the grounds of the Jakarta Islamic Centre, a centre for research and development on Islam. Along with the Mosque, the complex of the Islamic Centre has offices for business, research, and educational institutions. Notably, it took five hours to put out the previous fire that started in the mosque's dome in October 2002.
