Japan’s former PM Shinzo Abe shot during campaign, in critical condition

As per the reports, Shinzo collapsed after getting shot in the chest. As per the reports he fell to the ground and was bleeding profusely. The weapon used for the assault was reportedly a homemade shotgun

Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot and critically injured while he delivering his delivering speech in a campaign in western Japan. He has been 


As per the officials, while he was airlifted to a hospital, the former PM was in critical condition as he was not breathing and his heart had stopped beating. The police state that the 67-year-old Abe has gone into a state of cardiopulmonary arrest after receiving the bullet shots.

The police arrested the prime suspect identified Tetsuya Yamagami who allegedly shot the former PM.


Meanwhile, the current PM of Japan Fumio Kishida, and other cabinet ministers are all returning from campaign trips and heading back to Tokyo.
