On June 13, 2023, J&K Sports Council and Sports Authority of India (SAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to flourish sports in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). The MoU was signed by Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull and Deputy Director, incharge J&K and Ladakh, Nadeem Dar, on behalf of their respective organizations.

The MoU aims to expand the footprints of Khelo India centres in J&K. Khelo India is a flagship program of the Government of India that aims to promote sports among school children and youth. The centers will provide high-quality training to young athletes in various sports disciplines.

As part of the MoU, SAI will provide coaches, equipment, and other resources to the Khelo India centers in J&K. J&K Sports Council will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the centers.

The MoU is a significant step towards promoting sports in J&K. It is expected to provide a platform for young athletes to hone their skills and talents. The centers will also help to identify and nurture potential sportspersons for the future.

The MoU was welcomed by sports enthusiasts in J&K. They expressed hope that the centers would help to improve the performance of J&K athletes at the national and international level.

The MoU is a positive development for sports in J&K. It is a step in the right direction and is expected to yield positive results in the years to come.

Here are some of the key benefits of the MoU:

It will help to expand the reach of Khelo India in J&K.

It will provide high-quality training to young athletes in various sports disciplines.

It will help to identify and nurture potential sportspersons for the future.

It will improve the performance of J&K athletes at the national and international level.

I am confident that the MoU will be a success and will help to promote sports in J&K. I wish the J&K Sports Council and SAI all the best in their efforts to make J&K a sporting powerhouse.
