"This is the agenda of the BJP because inflation and unemployment have gone so far up, they cannot control it. So, they are doing this deliberately to divert attention." Said CM Gehlot

Over the eruption of clashes between two communities on Eid in Jodhpur, Rajasthan police have arrested at least 52 people. Also, the police stated that 45 others have also been detained in connection with the clashes.

Soon after the violence kicked off, authorities imposed a curfew which continues in several parts of Jodhpur, including Udai Mandir and Nagori Gate. Internet service has also been suspended in order to curtail the spread of rumors.

The violence erupted when the Eid flag was hoisted on the Jalori gate circle, resulting in stone pelting that injured five policemen on Monday night.

Commenting on the clashes, Chief Minister Gehlot blamed BJP for the violence.

"This is the agenda of the BJP because inflation and unemployment have gone so far up, they cannot control it. So, they are doing this deliberately to divert attention." Said CM Gehlot.

Meanwhile, after imposing a curfew and suspending internet services, police claim that the situation is getting under control.

"Right now, the situation is under control as no such incident (violence) has erupted in the city since yesterday noon," Navjyoti Gogoi, Commissioner of Jodhpur Police.
