Today's meeting of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Society will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The organisation meets yearly to examine CSIR activities and discuss its future programmes. Its members include prominent scientists, businessmen, and top officials of scientific ministries.

Along with PM Narendra Modi, union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal, and Jitendra Singh will attend the meeting. The gathering will assess CSIR initiatives and discuss its upcoming programmes.

The CSIR Society was beginning its third year, according to Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh, and the conference was particularly significant because the CSIR had completed 80 years.

According to the announcement from the Ministry, the CSIR's mandate also includes the development of vital scientific and technological people resources, enhancing self-reliance across industrial sectors, and enabling infrastructural improvements. For its scientific endeavours, the research and development company utilise AI and machine learning systems.

The Minister continued by saying that the revitalization of CSIR is being driven by the goal of making India a scientific powerhouse and an independent nation, as outlined in the CSIR Vision 2030 and connected to the National Vision@2047. He said that the CSIR has improved its interaction with businesses, which has enhanced industrial participation and cooperation in CSIR-funded initiatives.

Dr Singh also emphasised how the Jammu and Kashmir purple revolution and the CSIR's fragrance mission changed the course of history by making India an exporter rather than an importer.
