A tragic road accident in Dubai has claimed the lives of seven Indian workers and left nine others injured after a minibus carrying expatriate workers crashed into a stationary truck on Emirates Road. The incident occurred on Monday and has sent shockwaves through the Indian community in the United Arab Emirates.

According to Dubai Police, the truck had reportedly come to a halt in the middle of the road due to a mechanical fault. The minibus carrying the workers was unable to avoid the vehicle and rammed into its rear, resulting in a devastating collision. Initial investigations suggest that the bus driver may have failed to maintain a safe distance from the truck. Authorities have launched a detailed probe into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Officials confirmed that seven people lost their lives in the accident, while nine others sustained injuries. Several of the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, with some reported to be in critical condition. Emergency responders and police teams reached the scene immediately and carried out rescue operations to assist the victims.

The Indian Consulate in Dubai expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and confirmed that several of the deceased were Indian nationals working in the UAE. In a statement, the mission said its officials had visited hospitals, met the injured workers, and were coordinating closely with local authorities to provide assistance to the victims and their families. The consulate also assured that all necessary support would be extended, including help with documentation and repatriation procedures.

The accident has once again highlighted the challenges faced by thousands of migrant workers who form a crucial part of the Gulf region's workforce. Many of the victims were reportedly travelling after work when the crash occurred. Community organizations and Indian expatriate groups have expressed condolences and called for enhanced road safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

As investigations continue, authorities are expected to examine the truck's breakdown, road safety compliance, vehicle conditions, and the sequence of events that led to the collision. The tragedy has prompted an outpouring of grief from both Indian and Emirati communities, with many paying tribute to the workers who lost their lives far from home.

The Indian Consulate has urged anyone seeking information about affected workers to remain in contact with its emergency assistance channels while support efforts continue.
