Kulgam, April 25:
In a heartening display of community service and healthcare solidarity, the South Kashmir Blood Donors (SKBD) in collaboration with District Hospital Kulgam organized a blood donation camp at the hospital premises today. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from both local volunteers and medical staff, underlining the region’s commitment to saving lives.
The camp was inaugurated by the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kulgam, Dr. A.G. Raina, who attended as the chief guest. In his address, Dr. Raina praised the continuous efforts of SKBD, stating that the organization is playing a “very vital role for the residents of Kulgam district by ensuring timely availability of blood to patients in need.”
Highlighting SKBD's significant contribution, Dr. Raina mentioned that the group had donated 1300 blood points to the hospital in the previous year alone. At today's camp, they aimed to add another 100 points, further strengthening the hospital's blood reserves.
Numerous units of blood were donated during the event, with volunteers demonstrating remarkable commitment and civic responsibility. Members of SKBD reaffirmed their pledge to continue hosting such life-saving initiatives regularly.
The event concluded with a warm vote of thanks to all the donors and healthcare professionals involved. Certificates of appreciation were distributed among the donors to recognize their invaluable contributions to the cause.
This camp marks another milestone in the collaborative efforts between civil society and the healthcare sector in South Kashmir, aimed at building a stronger, healthier community.
