The UAE's Minister of Tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, launched a new Hindu temple on Tuesday, realising a 10-year-old Indian goal of having a Hindu temple in the Jebel Ali area.

Hasan Sajwani, a resident of the UAE, tweeted, "UAE's Minister of Tolerance HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan today opened Dubai's gorgeous and new Hindu Mandir (temple)."

The temple, which is an outgrowth of the Sindhi Guru Darbar Temple, one of the oldest Hindu temples in the UAE, was opened a day before the Dussehra celebration.

The foundation for the temple was initiated in February 2020.

According to Gulf News, the temple, which will be accessible to the public officially starting today—the day of the Dussehra festival—welcomes people of all religions and has permitted entry to devotees and other visitors to see the 16 deities and other interior works.

On September 1, 2022, the temple, which welcomes members of all religions, held its soft opening, allowing thousands of tourists to see the interiors made of white marble. It has intricate pillars, geometric patterns inspired by Hindu and Arabic architecture, and bells on the roof.

On its soft opening, the temple management turned on the website's QR-code-based appointment booking system.

Especially on weekends, the temple has seen a lot of visitors since it first opened. According to the article, the restricted admission has been controlled by QR-coded appointments to manage crowds and ensure social distance.

In the main prayer hall, the majority of the deities are set up, and the centre dome is covered in a huge 3D-printed pink lotus.

Dubai's brand-new Hindu temple will be open from 6:30 am to 8 pm, according to the official temple website.

The hourly number limitations that are now in effect will not apply to visitors who have made appointments to visit the temple through the official Dubai website for October 5.

The temple in Dubai also has a huge capacity, readily accommodating 1,000 to 1,200 worshippers each day.

The Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikhs' sacred scripture, was installed at the temple in August. It is situated in Jebel Ali's "Worship Village," which also includes multiple churches and the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara.
