US prez Biden inks Gun Control Law to “save lives”

After long speculations, US president Joe Biden finally inked the first federal bill on gun safety. Biden said he was not completely satisfied with the bill but at least it would “save lives”.

"This bill does not incorporate everything I want, but it includes certain actions that will be significant in saving lives,” Biden at the White House said.

The newly signed bill will augment the background investigation of the younger buyers. it will also give courts the authority to seize the weapons from those who seem a threat.

Talking about the new law, the US president said that both the Republicans and Democrats were in favor of the bill, and termed the consensus of the two parties as “monumental”.

"When it seems impossible to get anything done in Washington, we are doing something consequential," he said. "I know there's much more work to do and I'm never going to give up."
