"WE THE PEOPLE" THEMED HOLIDAY DECORATIONS BY BIDEN UNVEILED BY THE WHITE HOUSE

This Christmas season, the White House is decorated with a "We the People" theme that is based on the US Constitution.

The US First Lady Jill Biden had already announced the theme in the statement released by the White House on November 28. She was joined by a group of volunteers, National Guard leaders, and families from all throughout the country.

"The soul of our nation is, and always has been, 'We the People,'" the first lady will say in prepared remarks. "And that is what inspired this year's White House holiday decoration."

In the statement, Jill Biden said: You can see the values that bind us all together all around you: a belief in possibility, optimism, and unity. We represent everything that unites us during the holidays and throughout the year, room by room.

The Gold Star trees pay tribute to and honour those who gave their lives in defence of our nation, as well as the families who continue their legacies.

According to the US first lady, the library is where stories and history are celebrated, the Vermeil Room is where kindness is valued, and the China Room is where families gather around dinner tables. "In the East Room, where we are right now, we highlight the national treasures that belong to all of us: the National Parks and the communion we find in nature. So you can see them in all the mirrors if you look around you. All the National Parks are celebrated," Jill Biden said.

The centrepiece of the decorations will be an 18-and-a-half-foot fir tree brought to the nation's capital from Auburn, Pennsylvania, and displayed in the Blue Room.

It will be embellished with hand-made representations of the state, territory, and District of Columbia official birds from all 57 states.

"We the Children" will be the theme at the State Dining Room.

The first lady of the United States thanked the volunteers and noted that without their dedication, the holiday celebrations would not be possible. Over the holiday season, the White House anticipates hosting around 50,000 visitors.
