President of the war-torn Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "India's support," reiterating PM Modi's stance that this is not a "time of war." The development is noteworthy considering that the prime minister talked to the head of Kyiv on Tuesday in the midst of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and Vladimir Putin's statement that four areas of Ukraine have officially become a part of Russia now.

PM Modi reaffirmed his call for an early end to hostilities and the need of pursuing the path of discussion and diplomacy, in a telephone discussion with Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy thanked the prime minister for his support of Ukraine's "integrity" and emphasised the significance of his recent statement in which he said that the time was not appropriate for any war. PM Modi spoke with Putin regarding the current Russia-Ukraine dispute during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Samarkand.

The Indian prime minister informed Putin that "the age we live in today is not an age of war."

The president of Ukraine noted the conversation between the two leaders in Uzbekistan and emphasised the significance of PM Modi's message while expressing his gratitude. Zelesnkyy asked the Indian president to visit the eastern European nation, which is currently ravaged by hostilities and military offensives, and extended his invitation to him once more.

In a press release issued by the Indian government, it was said that Ukraine was prepared to continue serving as a guarantor of the world's food security after conversations between Zelenskyy and PM Modi on the topic. Both also discussed the nuclear safety issues and collaboration among international organisations, including the United Nations.

The president of Ukraine also praised the assistance given to the nation, which was ravaged by war, by the Indian government and the business sector. Zelenskyy repeatedly reiterated during the call that Ukraine will not engage in negotiations with the Russian President.

When the Russia-Ukraine conflict erupted in February 2022, PM Modi spoke with Putin and urged the Russians to scale back their military operations in Kyiv and resume talks with Zelenskyy.
