Shehbaz Sharif’s first word after hatching, and a faster delivery than Zomato’s 10-min idea

In today’s featured cartoon, Alok Nirantar illustrates newly elected Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raising the issue of Kashmir in his inaugural speech. The cartoonist suggests the 70-year-old leader was more bothered about the Valley than the crisis his own country is in.

Sandeep Adhwaryu’s cartoon is a response to one that appeared in The Economist, which mocked China and India for continuing to buy oil from Russia amid the war in Ukraine. Adhwaryu claps back using US President Joe Biden’s statement that ‘buying more Russian oil is not in India’s interest’, while Europe continues to do so. Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has mentioned Europe buying more oil from Russia compared to India.

Kirtish Bhatt jokes about the rising prices of fuel and lemons. The customer says buying them is like an investment, not a purchase.
