Doctors to consult on moving Saif to general ward from ICU after burglary attack

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was rushed to Lilavati Hospital after being attacked during a burglary at his Bandra residence, is recovering in ICU. 

According to a doctor attending Saif, a decision on transferring him to general ward will be made soon after discussions with his family.  

The incident took place in the wee hours of Thursday morning at Saif's Bandra apartment. Around 2:30 am, an intruder reportedly got into a verbal spat with the maid. When Saif intervened, the incident turned into a crime scene. 

Saif was stabbed six times, one was near to his spinal cord. He was immediately rushed to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery under the care of a specialized medical team. 

During the procedure, doctors removed a 2.5-inch knife lodged in his spine and repaired thoracic spinal cord injury that had caused spinal fluid leakage.  

On Thursday night, Saif’s wife Kareena Kapoor Khan released a statement stating, "It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded." "As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage."
