India’s squad for the 3 match ODI series and 2025 Champions Trophy will be announced on January 18th, BCCI announced in a statement. BCCI announced today that India captain Rohit Sharma and selector chairman Ajit Agarkar will address a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday. The press conference will start at 12:30 pm after the squad announcement. Gautam Gambhir will not be part of the presser.
"The Men's Selection Committee will select India's squad for the IDFC First Bank ODI series against England and the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tomorrow in Mumbai. The Selection Meeting will be followed by a press conference, details of which are under," BCCI said.
Meanwhile BCCI announced a 10 point policy to promote “discipline and unity” today. Domestic cricket is mandatory, families and personal staff not allowed on tours, individual commercial endorsements not allowed during series.
Before the ODIs against England, a 5 match T20I series against England will start from January 22.
The 5 match T20I series will start from January 22 in Kolkata. 2nd and 3rd match will be on January 25 and 28 in Chennai and Rajkot respectively. 4th match will be on January 31 in Pune. Mumbai will host the final match of the T20I series on February 2.
The 3 match ODI series will start from February 6. The next big challenge for India is the 2025 Champions Trophy from February 19 to March 9. It will be hosted by Pakistan and UAE, India will play its matches in UAE under a hybrid model.
The 8 team tournament will have 15 50 over matches and will be played in Pakistan and Dubai. The big match of the tournament between arch rivals India and Pakistan will be on February 23 in Dubai. India will start its campaign against Bangladesh on February 20. India’s last league match will be against New Zealand on March 2.
Group A has current Champions Trophy holders and hosts Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh. Group B has Cricket World Cup 2023 winners Australia, Afghanistan, England and South Africa.
