Bank Donates Wheelchairs to Indian Red Cross Society, J&K-UT Under its CSR
Activity
In a
significant move to support the differently-abled and contribute to the welfare
of society, J&K Bank today on 28th August, 2024 donated
wheelchairs to the Indian Red Cross Society, J&K. This initiative is a part
of the bank's ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities aimed at
empowering communities and promoting inclusivity.
The
event was held at the Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu, where senior
officials from J&K Bank, Sh. Arjun Singh Rathore, Cluster Head, J&K
Bank Zonal Office, J&K, Sh. Kulbir Singh Salathia, Manager J&K Bank,
Kachi Chawni & S. Joga Singh, Manager, Link Road, J&K Bank, Jammu were
present. From Indian Red Cross Society, J&K, Sh. Rohit Khajuria, General
Secretary, graced the occasion. The donation of wheelchairs is intended to aid
people with mobility challenges, providing them with better accessibility and
enhancing their quality of life.
Besides
this, Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Prof. & Head Orthopaedics, GMC, Jammu and Dr.
Akhil, Nodal Officer, Bones & Joint hospital, GMC Jammu were also present
in the occasion.
In
addition to that, IRCS J&K also presented mementos to the distinguished
guests as a token of appreciation for their efforts in social service and
community development and to staff for their work. First-aid kits were also
distributed to promote health and safety awareness, reinforcing the importance
of being prepared for medical emergencies
Speaking
on the occasion, Sh. Arjun Singh Rathore said, “At J&K Bank, we are
committed to contributing positively to society. This initiative is a
reflection of our dedication to supporting those in need and fostering a spirit
of inclusivity. We believe that our collaboration with the Red Cross J&K
will help us reach out to more people and make a difference in their lives.
Through our CSR initiatives, the bank continues to focus on areas such as
health, education, and community development.”

Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society expressed his
gratitude to J&K Bank for this generous contribution, highlighting the
importance of corporate partnerships in addressing social issues. He further
added, “The support from J&K Bank will go a long way in helping us provide
better services to those who need them the most. Such initiatives encourage us
to continue our work with renewed energy and commitment.”
The
distribution of wheelchairs will be managed by the Indian Red Cross Society,
ensuring that they reach the most deserving individuals across the J&K-UT.
This partnership between J&K Bank and Red Cross J&K underscores the
significance of collaborative efforts in achieving social welfare goals.
Further for the patient care, IRCS has donated few wheel chairs to Joint and
Bones Hospital, GMC Jammu.
